Fear of the Unknown and Update
TV programme
I do not know Mwenya, if you saw the MUTV programme last night?
It was talking about Chingwele cemetery and the serious problems there.
The situation at Leopards Hill is not much better - with squeezing, squeezing plots between graves and on the paths.
How much longer can people keep squeezing?
You know Mwenya the cemetery law says graves must be a certain size and are to have spaces between graves to avoid the risk of breaking into adjacent graves.
I do not understand why people still go to these cemeteries, knowing all the problems there are…… when they could come to Chamba Valley …….where there is lots of space and our loved ones and families are treated with respect and dignity.
We do have a problem with the rains damaging our access road, but this is a common issue around Lusaka at present and it will be repaired soon.
Official Opening
It is only 6 months now to our official opening of the first section in September and I am getting a bit concerned.
We are behind schedule with all the rains and grass growing in front of our eyes.
In some places it is over 6 feet tall – I have never seen grass grow so fast and we have to have a large number of men slashing every day.
Hopefully we will get some dry weather soon and we can catch up on our building work.
We have written to the President to ask if His Excellency will open the first phase.
So we have to have it looking very special.
